If P3D crashes on startup when selecting an airport or when already in the sim and then selecting an airport, delete the scenery.cfg file and let P3D rebuild it. The file is located in:

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4

This error can occur when installing new scenery and it can also cause your radio not to turn on. Even thought it appears turned on, the options in the ATC window will all be grayed out.

If your ATC window is grayed out but you're not experiencing a crash when selecting an airport, delete Prepa3d.cfg and let it rebuild it. That file is found here:

C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
